More Bands for Reading and Leeds

fightstar-gal-downloadReading and Leeds organisers have today announced more names for the joint festivals. The new bands will be joining headliners Kings of Leon, Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead.

New Found Glory, Alexisonfire, Madina Lake, Fightstar, The Rakes and Sonic Boom Six are some of the bigger names that will all be playing the main stage.

The dual events takes place over the August Bank holiday weekend (28th-30th August). Tickets are currently all sold out.

Burgess Announced Last Acts for IOW Fest

burgessFollowing yesterday’s new additions to the Isle Of Wight Festival, the man in charge of the Sunday line-up in the Big Top Tent, Tim Burgess (lead singer of The Charlatans), has revealed the final acts for the tent.

Kicking off the Sunday will be Dance For Burgess (what a fitting name) who will open The Big Top Tent on the final day of the festival.

The tent will close with a set from the curators own band, The Charlatans. Throughout the day Burgess will be spinning tunes in the tent with Rhys Webb (from The Horrors) as DJ’s.

Reformed punk group Killing Joke will be playing in the tent during the day. They will be joined by The Horrors as well as US acts Black Lips and The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart.

Poppy And The Jezebels, S.C.U.M and Hatcham Social will all be playing too.

The event takes place on the 12th, 13th & 14th June 2009 at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight. Tickets are still on sale priced at £140 for an adult camping ticket with other options available.

The currently confirmed headliners for the event are The Prodigy, Stereophonics, Neil Young and Razorlight. Maximo Park, Basement Jaxx, Pendulum, White Lies and The Pixies are all also set to take to the main stage during the event.

New Additions To Underage Festival

New bands have been announced for this summer’s Underage Festival. The newly named Santigold (formely Santogold) will be playing the festival. Other acts confirmed today include Lo-Fi Culture Scene, The Horrors, Lion Club and The Horrors.

The acts announced today will be joining The Pigeon Detectives, Mystery Jets, Metronomy, Ladyhawke, Esser, Rolo Tomassi plus many others.

The event, which only 18 year olds and under can attend, takes place at Victoria Park, Hackney, London on Friday 7th August 09.
