Corden and Horne Play Isle Of Wight Festival

Monday, March 16th, 2009

British comedy double act James Corden and Matthew Horne, famous for their roles in ‘Gavin and Stacy’ and more recently in their own self titled comedy sketch show, are reported to be playing at this year’s Isle of Wight Festival.

The pair won’t be doing stand-up or any sketches as you would expect, instead they will be playing in a band. The duo are to take part in a new ITV show called ‘We Are Rock Stars’, where they have just five days to start up the band and rehearse for the gig at the festival.

News Of The World were told “James’s experience of fronting music gigs extends to playing the cornet at school, so it should be interesting to say the very least. But Matt’s a DJ these days so he’s got a bit more of an idea.”

“They’re setting up a band from scratch, which is a hell of a challenge, so the set list is likely to include songs that aren’t too taxing but will get everyone going.”

Other acts set to play the event include Basement Jaxx, The Ting Tings, The Charlatans and Pendulum. The headliners are The Prodigy, Stereophonics and Razorlight.

Tickets for this year’s festival are now on sale priced at £140 for an adult weekend pass with camping with other ticket options available. The festival has been a huge event over the last few years selling out consistently over the past three years. This year looks like it should be the same with around 50,000 music lovers attending the event.

Isle Of Wight takes place from 12-14 June at Seaclose Park, Newport.
