Drum and bass outfit Pendulum have been confirmed for another new festival for 2009, Homecoming Festival. Scotlands newest festival will take place over the May Bank Holiday weekend (Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd May) at Irvine Beach Park, Aryshire.

The headlining acts are still to be announced but the current bands on the bill announced so far includes Tim Westwood, Taio Cruz. Utah Saints, Dimitri From Paris and Armin Van Buuren. The festival organisers have also confirmed DJ sets from The Pigeon Detectives and Snow Patrol.
Grant Ruxton, Homecoming’s organiser, told the press: “Homecoming is an ambitious five year festival programme. If you are impressed by what you see in May 2009, then we would say that this is only the beginning. West Central Scotland is possibly the only area in the UK that does not stage a major high quality outdoor music festival.”
“The Irvine area is undergoing a huge regeneration and we are delighted to be part of the project. We are thrilled to have secured some of the hottest acts around for our first year and will be offering festival goers a diverse and exciting line up. There are many acts still to be announced so watch this space.”
Homecoming Festival is just one of a series of events being held to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of Scotland’s National Poet, Robert Burns – who would be turning the grand age of 250!
Early bird weekend tickets were put on sale today priced at a modest £85. These will be available until 10th March when single day passes (£55) will go on sale. Homecomig will feature 12 areans and the organisers claim the festival finishes later than all other major Scottish festivals.
